Why Project Management?

Most organisations run on projects.

Every process improvement, every operational change, every commitment delivered outside the daily run rate is a project. Leaders who can manage that work with structure, discipline and commercial clarity make a disproportionate contribution to performance. Those who cannot are left explaining delays, managing consequences and firefighting problems that better planning would have prevented.

Project management done badly…

  • Project scope drifts as it wasn’t clearly defined
  • Plans fall apart the moment anything changes
  • Stakeholders surprised by problems the project
  • Untracked budgeting which cant be explained
  • Previous lessons learned are not implemented

Project management done well…

  • Expectations are clear and owned by the team
  • Schedules are risks managed and built with analysis
  • Stakeholders are informed, engaged and confident
  • Budgets tracked weekly, variances understood
  • Lessons used to improve the next project
